An action of this nature has many unintended consequences, the most important one to me is that I will not be able to protect myself or my family when interacting with the State. As a law abiding citizen this order would have me leave my defensive tool at home and not have it available to and fromsince the order covers the parking areas at for instance D.M.V. so it would be illegal there. If I chose to leave it in the car illegally it would then be possible for a criminal to steal it and use it against anyone. At my age I am unable to defend myself and family with bare hands against a probably stronger, younger criminal. If this action is approved the police (who by Supreme Court ruling) have "no duty to defend" would have to take on the additional burden of defending these areas or the State of Virginia would need to hire additional security. Wouldn't it be more prudent to let us continue to protect ourselves and not be forced to pay yet more tax? To say it bluntly, do not let this carpetbagger destroy our rights with imported, poorly thought out ideas in support of his political bosses from out of state.
