Support required affirmation of citizenship and legal competency and status as non-felon for voters

I strongly support continuing to require that voter registrants affirm their eligibility to vote under VA law including affirmatively indicating that they are 1) a US citizen; 2) NOT a convicted felon and 3) NOT legally incompetent as a prerequisite to becomming registered to vote. VA law already requires this affirmation and the check boxes on the voter registration form should remain and use of the boxes should continue to be required. Voters who register withour completing all of these boxes should be deemed ineligible to vote until such time as the registration is completed by the registrant and truthfully marked and submitted. It is vital to protect the voting rights of VA citizens (not mere residents) that non-citizens, felons, and those deemed incompetent by a VA court be excluded from the VA voter rolls. It is the sworn duty of the VA State Board of Elections to uphold and enforce this law.
