U.S. citizenship and felony conviction check boxes should not be made optional. It invites voter fraud, and unconstitutionally dilutes legitimate votes. As a first generation American Latina, I resent both the politically driven hidden agenda behind this proposal, and the lack of respect it shows to people like my late father and grandmother who worked so hard to attain their U.S. citizenship and lawful right to vote. As far as I am concerned this proposition is potentially violative of equal protections under the constitution and will be very costly for our communities. And finally, please stop offending immigrant residents and minorities who are in process of earning their citizenship by propagating the myth that most in our community are too ignorant to understand what we are signing. I am so tired of bureaucrats making up narratives that do not match reality just to leverage a political advantage. I find it really offensive. Fair play please!
