Do not eliminate citizenship verification and felony status for voter registration in Virginia

I strongly urge removal of lines #8, 10, and 11 in section B of 1VAC20-40-70.

If persons in Virginia are registering to vote, it should be their first task to affirm that they are, in fact, both citizens of the United States, and to provide their social security numbers. They should also provide the information that they are not felons. This is the basic duty of a citizen of the United States and residents of individual states. It is part of the honor and trust that binds us together. The duty of the voter registration staff is to verify that these statements are true and this is the basis of the voting system in the United States of America. We are not a banana republic. We must be able to trust our voting processes.
