The textual changes that make it optional to check the boxes for the applicant to affirm his or her U.S. citizenship, the lack of felony convictions, and the absence of any legal mental competency ruling against the applicant are nonsensical and wrong, with a result that the ambiguity would make the requirements next to impossible to enforce. 

Do not make these changes, which would break what is not broken and substitute confusion for clarity.
