I am opposed to any changes to voter registration that will make it easier for ineligible persons to participate in Virginia elections. We should be doing everything in our power to prevent this very thing from happening, not making it easier to skirt our laws. Furthermore, I'm opposed to any attempt by the governor or unelected boards to change the intent of any law through executive action or policy change. These acts are unconstitutional since they undermine the basic premise of separation of powers. The legislative branch has sole responsibility for law making and any attempt to usurp this basic power of the people's representatives will be met with swift opposition by the good people of Virginia. I urge the governor to remain within the legal bounds of his constitutional authority in this and all matters.
