Voter registration form should NOT be changed.  The current form has checkboxes for the applicant to affirm his or her U.S. citizenship, the lack of felony convictions, and the absence of any legal mental competency ruling against the applicant.  The proposed changes makes checking the boxes optional and thus eliminates significant safeguards against fraudulent registration by diminishing prosecutorial tools.  Virginia must have and preserve firm grounds for prosecuting violators of our election laws.  To not do so diminishes the very meaning of citizenship.
