NO, A THOUSAND TIMES NO! This proposed change is a travesty and must not be implemented. Heritage Foundation research documents large numbers of voter fraud convictions across the country. The only rational reason to allow voting by those who fail to attest to their citizenship is to promote fraud and thereby devalue the legitimate votes of U.S. citizens. Such a devaluation is a cancer on our democracy that undermines republican government, inconsistent with the Constitution's recognition that the states are guaranteed a republican form of government. The governor and his allies in this misbegotten enterprise should hang their heads in collective shame and immediately withdraw the proposed change. If they fail to do so, one can only conclude that they support fraud and wish to devalue republican government -- positions that demonstrate utter contempt for what it means to be an American citizen and dishonor the blood shed by Americans to maintain freedom and democracy.
