Stop the Voter Registration Changes

I wanted to contact the board personally and express my outrage at the proposed changes to Virginia Voter Registration that were discussed at the 28 July meeting of the State Board of Elections. I am convinced that the proposed change to voter registration forms – removing the certification at registration that a voter is a citizen and not a felon – is designed to dilute my rights as a citizen of Virginia.

I am a retired Army Colonel and my sons are both serving officers and combat veterans. They have risked their lives - as citizens – in the defense of this Nation. Their right to vote and choose a representative government is being diluted and sold by allowing those who are ineligible to vote to register. If the form for voting registration is changed to NOT ask for citizenship or felon status, there will be no immediate block to anyone registering and no legal recourse to prosecution of false registration. This change cannot stand.

I will tell you straight up that this change has one and only one purpose – to expand the voting roles for those who are ineligible to vote, but likely to vote for the Democrat Party. This is a bald-faced attempt to pervert the voting registration process to allow illegals and felons to vote. It sickens me to say this but YOU - the Board of Elections - are attempting to take the privilege of citizenship – which in my family, was earned not only by birthright but also in the fight – and grant it to those who have NO RIGHT TO VOTE.

I urge you to take immediate action to kill this proposed change. And if these changes are approved, I will do everything in my power to get them reversed and have this board disestablished. I will NOT stand by and watch my rights as a citizen given to those who are completely underserving of the right to vote.
