Please do not close women's health clinics in Virginia

I grew up in a small town in the western part of the state where the railroad was the major industry. Once railroading began to decline, so did other businesses in the area, resulting in poverty for a great number of the citizens. Today a number of the people have no health insurance. The women are dependent on clinics for papsmears, mammograms and gynecological care. Taking clinics away means these women won't get regular check ups because they can't afford it. It is only when it is too late, due to severe illness, that they end up in an ER, only to discover they have a late stage of cancer. Needless to say cancer can be prevented with early detection. Women also depend on clinics for birth control. Many famililes cannot afford birth control. This often results in an unwanted pregnancy thus creating additional emotional, physical and economic hardships on the entire family. This is especially true if the woman is the breadwinner. I urge you to not let a too narrow hallway prevent access to necessary healthcare for those that can least afford it, and are most at risk. It is unconciionable to do otherwise. Thank you.
