Women's Health vs. Targeted Restrictions of Abortion Providers

Good evening.  I just want to add my name, as a registered Virginia voter, to those opposing TRAP.  Abortion, while certainly a controversial issue in our commonwealth and our country, remains legal in the U.S., and states should not impose medically unnecessary restrictions for abortion providers.  State boards of health should, of course, carefully consider public health and appropriately regulate medical providers.  Abortion providers very often also provide family planning services, cancer screenings, sexually transmitted disease testing & treatment, as well as women's health counseling.  In quite a few states medically unnecessary restrictions have been imposed on abortion providers ... coinciding with a sharp increase in politically conservative takeovers of state legislatures.  One must wonder perhaps these TRAP laws and regulations may have been passed and implemented not so much to truly protect women's heath as to make it difficult for abortion providers to remain in operation. the abortion provider restrictions that are soon to go into effect in the commonwealth.  There are many things that our Virginia government could to further women's health, if truly interested and courageous.  Please carefully consider.
