Board of Health,

To abandon the law set in place for making abortion clinics follow the same health and safety regulations that hospitals have to follow is absolutely ridiculous. Abortion is a surgery! Think about it this way. Would you go into an unclean/unsafe hospital and have surgery" Would you send your CHILD in to an unclean/unsafe hospital to have surgery" I highly doubt that you would. Then why would we allow these clinics to perform surgeries in unclean/unsafe environments" If they dont have the money to bring the facilities into compliance then they probably shouldnt be in business anyway. They probably dont have the money to properly perform surgeries at all and should never have opened their doors. Emergencies happen in all areas of the medical field. Why shouldnt these clinics have to meet the criteria to keep their patients safe in the event an emergency does take place" Or would they rather take the chance of losing that patient" Put yourself in the equation and see how you would feel walking into one of these facilities. You probably wouldnt walk through the door knowing your health isnt forefront on their minds.

The right thing to do is to keep this law in place and enforce it. If they dont have the money to keep their facility running under the law, then they should shut their doors. It will not only save the lives of the patients, but could potentially save the lives of unborn babies as well. T. Jones
