Would a Medical Health Board Loosen Care Standards for Any Other Medical Business?

No good doctor wants to be required to protect a patient's health--any good doctor will want to do that with or without a mandate.  But some doctors apparently will not even follow the minimal procedures in place for well over a century, such as washing hands between examinations and facilities between operations. Abortion is an operation, and it is often an operation that involves some of the highest risk elements, such as anesthesia.

If the issue at hand were any other than the regulation of the practice of abortion, and if the incidents that had led to the regulations had occured in any other medical business, there is no doubt that the regulations would have been welcomed and continued.

Please do not treat this issue of medical safety other than you would for any other medical business that had similar problems.
