Health and Safety Standards are necessary to protect women

As a post abortive woman, I know that the new health and safety standards are good for women and should be allowed to go into effect in Virginia. My personal experience in abortion clinics confirms the unsafe and unsanitary conditions found by VA health Department inspectors, including dried blood on seats and exam tables.  Inspectors also found Drs. doing exams with unwashed hands, fetal remains in freezers, unsanitized recovery cots and contaminated, bloodstained equipment.  This wouldn't be tolerated in veterinary hospitals, so why should women not also have protection in abortion clinics?

We need regulations that provide for safe medical equipment, supplies and drugs to manage potential emergencies, provide for patient rights and patient services. Standards must regulate that a staff member be certified to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation on-site for emergency care when and where abortions are performed.  Regulations should include infection prevention standards and procedures outlining proper protecal for discharge from anesthesia care.  I received very bad and unsafe care when I had my abortion and I do not want any other women, in Virginia or any state, to receive substandared care.  Please allow the regulations and standards for abortion clinics to go into effect immediately.

Thanks you!
