Legislators are not licensed to practice medicine

Unecessary abortion regulations aimed at closing clinics disproportionately impact low income women seeking legal access to healthcare, while not offerring any improved safety.    This is an inappropriate use of the law and these regulations should be repealed. If the concern is truly aimed at protecting women and children, safe access to health care should be the primary focus.

The major medical organizations in Virginia do not support these regulations and have publicly stated their concern for the interference in providing appropriate care.

There is no basis for supporting these regulations by citizens who 1) believe health care professionals should be involved in determining the best care for patients   and 2) are concerned for all of the population, including the underserved.

If you want to reduce abortions, reduce the need for the abortion, provide good education and good opportunities.
