Uphold Standards, Protect Women

Board of Health,

To reduce safety compliance regulations to abortion centers is insulting to all women - those who use those clinics and those who dont. It is sad enough that some women feel that having an abortion is something they have to go through let alone knowing that the government in the State of Virginia is working hard to overturn compliance standards which protect them when they feel they have to go through the ugliest of medical procedures (an abortion). This adds insult to injury. What it really says is that making money or saving money is more important than reducing risks for all women who enter those places. Why should this surprise us in the first place" They are taking the lives of humans, so do they really care about women at all. No. Access to legal abortion is not about advocating any type of health care for women but is used as a political positioning to get votes and to make money which eventually finds its way back to political campaigns. There is no such thing as "reproductive rights" - no one has the "right" to do something wrong as in kill another human being because giving another life is inconvenient. Sandra Watkins
