I write to oppose the selective application of new construction regulations to Women's Health Centers that provide safe, legal first trimester abortion. It is clearly a political move to deny Virginians their constitutional right to terminate a pregnancy. No other existing healthcare facilities are being forced to apply regulations intended for new construction only. The forced closure of Women's Health Centers will only drive women to seek unsafe, unregulated practitioners, with the same terrible consequences that used to be the norm. Please rethink.
