I was a medical provider, and I can understand the need for appropriate clinic training and equipment arena...but, the requirements being insisted upon are being demanded only for abortion clinics....not for any other surgical outpatient offerings. When 1 out of 3 women in this state will have had an abortion in their lifetime, and it will continue to be a necessity when contraceptives fail, so it has to be kept a legal and safe procedure to protect the health of the women of this state. I have seen the results of providers from the back alleys...and it is tragic for the woman to lose her life or her reproductive future because the safety was denied. This is a difficult decision for the woman to have to make, but her life should not be put on the line for the sake of an unwanted pregnancy. These restrictions should be dismissed. Trust the women of this state to decide on their future themselves.
