Harmful Effect of TRAP Regulations

As a long-time resident of southern Virginia, I am very disturbed by the proposal of TRAP "regulations" singling out women's health centers. These proposals, which include widening hallways, changing the height of drinking fountains, and increasing the number of parking spaces, are specifically targeted towards abortion clinics with the intent of driving up costs and forcing these centers to close. As a future Obstetrician-Gynecologist who hopes to one day practice in Virginia, I value the importance of patient safety, but the decision to continue or terminate a pregnancy should be left up to individual women, in consultation with their doctors and families. The state legislature should not be working to reduce access to this important service, and should keep in mind that its members represent both Pro-Life and Pro-Choice constituents.
