As the parent of two gifted children in the center based gifted program, I have to wonder why these revisions are being proposed when the current program is working so well.  Both of my children have thrived in the current program, one has just entered high school and the other is in the 5th grade.  I think the time and money being spent on these revisions and proposals could be much better spent in other educational areas.  Our children are "special needs" children as well as those with handicaps or language barriers.  They need a special education too.  Please reject these changes and keep the program in the capable hands it is currently in.
