As a commonwealth EMT I fully support the repeal of the EMS weapons ban with an amendment. Even with repeal of the weapons ban it allows public safety rescue/fire organizations to still forbid them. Office of Emergency Medical Services has said that with repeal an individual organization can still ban firearm/weapons. Some agencies have begun already creating policies to ban firearms if the weapons ban is repealed. So I request that the ban be repealed but also amended to not allow public safety agencies to create policies that forbid them.
