please do not shackle pregnant women during labor, delivery and in a post-partum period

I have recently learned that pregnant inmates are shackeled during labor, deliver and during the post-partum period in some local facilities.  This is simply inhumaine.  The American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the American Medical Association oppose the practice of shackling inmates due to the health risks it poses to the life of the mother and her child. Further, there are no documented cases of women in labor or delivery causing harm to themselves, correctional staff or medical staff. Finally, state-run correctional facilities have already enacted limitations on this practice; local and regional facilities should do the same.

Please set a regulation that will prevent this from happening in local facilities.
