Please end the practice of shackling pregnant women. Shackling puts women and their fetuses at risk for health problems. Among the states that have restricted shackling of pregnant inmates none have documented instances of women in labor or delivery escaping or causing harm to themselves, the public, security guards, or medical staff. This is a cruel practice that has gone on for far too long!
