I am writing to respectfully request that the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Virginia enact legislation to prohibit unecessary physical restraints on incarcerated persons who are pregnant.  In many cases the use of restraints is a health risk to both the mother and the unborn child.  Thank you very much for your kind consideration of my request.
