Description The 2015 Virginia General Assembly enacted the Commonwealth’s Compensation for Victims of Eugenics Sterilization Program on March 22, 2014 in Chapter 665 of the Acts of Assembly (the Budget Bill). This regulation provides administrative guidelines for appropriate documentation to verify the claim of individuals who were victims of forced sterilization to be compensated pursuant to the Virginia Eugenical Sterilization Act and who were living as of February 1, 2015 (up to $25,000 per individual). It also provides an administrative process for handling all claims.
