Periodic Reviews
| Description | This regulation establishes procedures by which local boards of social services may request changes in their locality grouping, which is used to determine the amount of payment for Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF). To change locality groupings, local boards must provide fair market rent data to the State Board of Social Services. If the data meets the criteria stated in the regulation, that is, the rent costs in the petitioning locality are 20% higher than a bordering locality and both localities are in the same grouping, or the rent costs are less than or equal in a bordering locality and the bordering locality is in a higher grouping, then the change may be approved. In all cases funds must be available for the change to be effective. |
