| Purpose of the meeting Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) will exchange information with the interested public on technical issues related to a Virginia Pollution Abatement Permit modification application that would allow the land application of biosolids and water treatment plant residuals in Bedford County by Bio-Nomic Serices Inc. Specific information includes site-specific information that DEQ may consider when drafting the permit modification, the standard content of permits and how the public can provide comment on a draft permit modification. The permit modification would authorize land application to an additional 3,868.2 acres of agricultural land at 197 sites located within Bedford County at controlled rates protective of water quality and human health.
