Purpose of the meeting An information public meeting regarding an application from Recyc Systems, Inc. to modify an existing permit that allows the land application of biosolids and water treatment plant residuals in Madison County. The purpose of the meeting is for the Department of Environmental Quality to exchange information with the interested public on technical issues related to the proposed permit modification such as: site-specific information that DEQ may consider when drafting the permit modification; the standard content of permits; and how the public can provide comment on a draft permit modification. Recyc Systems, Inc. has submitted an application for the modification of an existing permit that would authorize the land application of biosolids and water treatment plant residuals as fertilizer to an additional 1,192.5 acres of agricultural land at 6 sites located within Madison County at controlled rates protective of water quality and human health.
