| Purpose of the meeting A public hearing to receive comment on a proposed Virginia Pollution Abatement Permit for Synagro Central, LLC to land apply biosolids to 6,452.6 gross acres of agricultural and silvicultural land at 13 sites identified in the draft permit and located within Spotsylvania County. The applicant proposes to utilize biosolids on agricultural and silvicultural land without a discharge to surface waters. The Board accepts written comments by hand-delivery, e-mail, fax or postal mail. All comments must 1) be received by the Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) during the comment period, 2) include the names, mailing addresses and telephone numbers of the person commenting, and 3) include a brief, informal statement on how the proposal affects the person commenting. The Board also accepts written and oral comments at public hearings. To make a statement at a public hearing, write your name on a sign-up sheet available before the hearing. You may sign up only for yourself. The time allowed for each statement is set by the hearing officer. The public may review the draft permit and application at the DEQ office named below. An interactive information session will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. at the same location. The public comment period ends on May 22, 2015. A back-up date for the hearing, if needed, has been scheduled for May 14, 2015 at 7 p.m. In the event that the hearing is held on May 14, 2015 then the public comment period will remain open until May 29, 2015. | |
