| Purpose of the meeting A public meeting regarding a permit application from Synagro Central, LLC to authorize the land application of Class B biosolids and WTP residuals to 1,143.5 acres of agricultural land at a controlled rate protective of water quality and human health. The purpose of the meeting is for the Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) to exchange information with the interested public on technical issues concerning the permit application such as: site-specific information that DEQ may consider when drafting the permit, the standard content of permits, and how the public can provide comment on a draft permit. Following the public meeting described in this notice, DEQ may draft a permit based on information in the application and, if a permit is drafted, DEQ will publish notice of the draft permit for public comment. That notice will include instructions on how to comment and/or request a public hearing on the draft permit. Based on comments received on the draft permit, DEQ may make a final decision on the permit, or hold a public hearing on the draft permit, in which case, the State Water Control Board would make the final decision on the permit. The public may review the permit application at the public meeting and at the DEQ office named below. | |
