Purpose of the meeting
A public meeting to discuss technical issues related to and receive public input on an application to modify Recyc Systems, Inc.'s Virginia Pollution Abatement permit for the landa pplication of biosolids in Nottoway County. Recyc Systems, Inc. has applied for a permit to modify the land application of biosolids to 67 fields in Nottoway County, VA totaling approximately 922.6 acres of farmland. Four fields owned by Victor T. Allen, two fields owned by Harry S. & Ann L. Andrews, fifteen fields owned by Geneva N. Bowman, one field owned by Thomas V. & Ann E. Warren, two fields owned by Jean G. McBride, eight fields owned by Ronald L. & Linda B. Boyd, two fields owned by Burnice G. & Judy R. Coghill, one field owned by John B. & Tanya Marie Coghill, two fields owned by Charlie H. Cook, four fields owned by Douglas M. & Sherry H. Crafton, one field owned by Roger J. & Maude L. Malbone, one field owned by Roger J. & Maude L. Malbone & Ralph Westfall Jr., five fields owned by Wayne L. Paulett & Martha Paulette, two fields owned by R. Edward Powell Trust, two fields owned by Robert T. Procise Sr., one field owned by Carlton & Gweneth T. Procise, two fields owned by Jacquelyn R & Brian R. Cox, & John I. and Janice R. The biosolids will be land applied as a fertilizer at a controlled rate in accordance with a nutrient management plan that will be developed for each site. The applicant proposes to utilize biosolids on farmland without a discharge to surface waters. The public may review the permit application at the public meeting and at the DEQ office named below.
