I'm totally against wind turbine eyesores.  They nearly always must be located where they destroy the most spectacularly beautiful scenic panoramas.  Solar and wind are only competitive with oil and gas when subsidized with tax money AND given tax breaks.

We need to do everything possible to Reduce and Cap Carbon Dioxide from Fossil Fuel Fired Electric Power Generating Facilities. I support carbon dioxide pollution reduction.  This pollution kills millions of people each year and is the reason Richmond/Chesterfield has the highest Asthma rate in the state.  Please be smart and promote renewable technologies such as solar for a healthier environment and to stop global warming.  Health should win over greedy corporate interests.

I strongly support substantive action to reduce and cap carbon emissions from power plants as an essential way to help combat the ever-growing dangers of climate change in our state and in the world at large.

I would like to see Virginia become a leader in alternative energy for the US. Other countries are far ahead of us in this area. 

Clean energy is the best thing that could happen to the USA it provides jobs and saves valuable resourses.  We have solor panels on our roof that save us a great deal of money every month on our bill and it also saves the local  utility company money on having to create more grids.  Our Utility company in Virginia is smart about this and even encourages it.  I think eveyone should try to take advantage of sun especially in the south.  There are states that want to ban Clean energy and solar I think that is tragic.

Being that climate change is an absolutely undeniable fact of life that is already killing (not only polar bears, but) human beings in the US, whether through heat waves, numerous diseases caused by air pollution, asthma attacks, flooding, etc., it is so absolutely clear that Virginia must put caps on the CO2 emissions that are largely causing all these terrors.

Energy companies have more than enough resources and brainpower to figure out solutions for CO2 caps. It is their resposibility to provide energy in a way that is not directly detrimental to the lives of its customers. Similarly, it is the responsibility of lawmakers to give these DIRELY-needed guidelines to energy companies so that their constituents are safe under their care. These are responsiblities that have been thrown aside many a time in the past, but that are absolutely critical to be upheld now.

Please, give Virginia a chance to breathe. We do not deserve to be killed off because of very regulatable CO2 output. Thank you.

Caps on carbon emissions are CRITICAL and NECESSARY! Do not let Domion be without limits!

I love the work that our governor has done so far in protecting our environment and pushing for clean air standards, and I truly believe Virginia has a responsibility to each of it's constituents to uphold emission standards and subsequently ensure a safer future for the next generation of Virginias. A cap is a step forward in transitioning our community to one that is more sustainable, yet still profitable. Climate change is happening quickly, and Virginia needs to put plans in motion to better our community in order to mitigate and adapt to  this change 

I support a transition to renewable energy. However, because "the trading of carbon dioxide (CO2) allowances" is simply a tax used to transfer money from "the people" to someone else, and since these money transfers do not actually reduce the amount of CO2 produced, I do not support this proposed regulation. It would be far better to simply provide an exception via the law for those that actually produce CO2 than to actively support some "carbon trading scheme".

If this regulation is passed (I hope it is not), then please stipulate that no "carbon trading money" be allowed to exit the United States. The last thing we need to to send more money overseas.

As an environmental educator to 46 schools in the Roanoke Valley, I was able to bring environmental programs about clean land, water, and air to about 25,000 students each year. Clean land, water, and air is supported by reduced greenhouse gases and clean energy. The Science Museum of Virginia led the way for clean energy education by providing the disc on  Virginia Energy: Question Power. The program demonstrates how long each type of power will be available. Essentially, all fossil fuel will no longer be a viable energy source by 2070. If  Virginia doesn't covert to 100% renewable energy long before that, we will experience loss of power, loss of travel fuel, loss of jobs. The sooner we convert to renewable energy, the longer we will have to make a complete transition. Waiting until fossil fuels are gone will give little time to transition smoothly. The 25,000 students a year were listening. Many are ready to vote. Listen to your younger generation. They  can inherit a safe, clean  Virginia, or they can inherit health risks, polluted water, air, and land. What shall we leave for our grandchildren?

Whatever Virginians can do to reduce the pollution problem, we must. We cannot contribute to the demise of our beautiful Commonwealth or our impact on the degradation of the planet. This is our most pressing problem. Without our planet to sustain us, all other concerns will be obsolete...

Despite the pernicious denial and lies of the Trump regime, scientists worldwide have established beyond any reasonable doubt that excess CO2 from fossil fuels are destabilizing our global climate, threatening our common future on this planet.  Therefore, we need to take regulatory action immediately to cap carbon emissions on all public utilities in Virginia, so that we can become part of the solution, rather than part of the imminent threat of climate destabilization and run-away global heating that threatens all future generations.

Help strengthen our economy and lessen our pollution by investmenting more heavily in clean/sustainable energy sources, as well as energy efficiency.

I support your move to cap fossil fuel emissions from any sources in Virginia.  Our air and water are struggling to remain clean, but our energy companies are working against us by delaying implementation of renewable energy sources. Anything we can do to move them forward will be welcomed.

Please also remember that natural gas contributes to climate change, perhaps as much as coal does. Cutting down old growth forest to build pipelines encourages the use and drilling of natural gas while at the same time removing an important climate sink.
