It seems to me that in a democracy, government official should do everything possible to be sure that everyone has the oportunity to vote and to be sure that all valid votes are counted.  As we age, our writing begans to show this aging.  Thus, if the printed signature is readable, then the official signature should be accepted.  It appears that some of the restrictions being considered brings to mind those that were imposed upon African-Americans during the the Jim Crow era.
