Positive step forward for family health care

There are two major reasons I support this action: (1) it is family-friendly and (2) it is revenue neutral.

First, it is a positive step toward providing health care for ALL family members - it is family-friendly. Many citizens of Virginia have family members who cannot be covered currently (parents, adult children, dependent grandchildren, etc) even though they live in the household of an employee of the Commonwealth.

Second, this action does not cost the Commonwealth any money since those covered pay the full cost of coverage; it simply ALLOWS them to be covered.

This is one of the most positive proposed actions I've seen in over 35 years as a Virginia citizen. I am an emeritus faculty member at Virginia Tech.

In the midst of all the often-false and misleading propaganda coming from insurance companies and special interest groups opposing the current health care legislation discussion at the federal level, Virginia has the opportunity, in this action, to demonstrate that we are indeed a "commonwealth" where all people count.
