General Information
Action Summary SB265 (2010) amends § 32.1-162.2 of the Code of Virginia related to hospice programs by extending licensure exemption to programs that are accredited by national accrediting organizations recognized by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS). In order for a hospice program to seek national accreditation, it must first become licensed by the Virginia Department of Health. This action is also taken as a result of the Regulatory Reform Task Force under then-Attorney General McDonnell. The changes are technical in nature, conforming the language of the regulation to applicable citations in the Code of Virginia.
